Residency Information for Tuition Purposes

If you're wishing to be classified as an Illinois resident for tuition purposes, you need to appeal your nonresident status by submitting a petition for change of resident status and documenting that you've fulfilled the residency requirements as outlined in the Board of Trustees residency regulations.

Determination of Residency
Per Board of Trustees residency regulations, the university shall determine the residency status of each student for the purpose of establishing whether the student should be assessed in-state or out-of-state tuition. The decision for each student is based on the information submitted to the university at the time of application for admission.
